The trap dream

I have been reminded of this dream four or more times today out of the blue.  I felt like it would be good to share.  But then I let my worries about annoying people creep in so I waited.  But here it is.

There was this large wall a lot of people were trying to get over.  It went into this place that people thought was really cool.  Getting over the wall meant you were allowed into this “special” place where only “the best” got in.

It seemed very exclusive.  Not many people seemed to make it.

But a lot of my family got over.  And then I couldn’t talk to them.  I found a way to make it over.

On the other side there seemed to be a short time of where you were applauded for making it in.

And then, slowly things changed.  It became clear it was a trap.  You couldn’t get out easily once you were in.

There were more and more tests and tasks for more “recognition” or other things.  That was all it was.  It was like a prison.

And there were soooo many people in there.

Anyway, I woke up.  And was thinking of how weird it was.  And felt it was symbolic and spiritual.

I felt it was the trap of trying to “be perfect, great, do better and better, etc.”

And then I had a revelation that this trap is in our minds.  Which may seem obvious.

Anyway, I apologize if I sound annoying, but it reminded me that so often in this life we get in the trap of trying to do more, be more, and that loop never ends.  Or is hard to end.

Our real worth and joy comes in being and feeling.  Enjoying the present moment and simple things.  And remembering we are loved no matter what we achieve.
